Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related technical field or equivalent practical experience.
  • 6 years of experience serving in the capacity of a sales engineer or technical consultant in a cloud computing environment or in a customer-facing role.
  • Experience engaging with, and presenting to, technical stakeholders and executive leaders with the ability to communicate fluently in Japanese.

Preferred qualifications:

  • MBA or Master's degree.
  • Experience with on-premise and cloud based mail delivery, routing, and filtering technologies.
  • Experience in mobile device management and relevant third-party integrations.
  • Experience with cloud security, including identity and access management (IAM), SSO, OAuth, and two-step verification.
  • Experience with data loss prevention and e-discovery technologies for email, and with developing enterprise digital transformation and modernization strategies.
  • Familiarity with Big Data, PaaS, and IaaS terminology.

As a Customer Engineer, you will engage with customers to understand their business and technical requirements, and persuasively present practical and useful solutions utilizing Google Workspace. In this role, you will work with the business team as a Google Workspace subject matter expert to help customers get the most out of Google’s collaboration and productivity tools. You will help existing and prospective customers understand the power of Google Cloud, explaining technical features and problem-solving any potential roadblocks.

Responsibilities

  • Work with the team to identify, discover, and qualify new and potential business opportunities across the region. Imagine the clients’ future business through discovery and requirement gathering workshops.
  • Identify key customer technical objections, and develop the strategy to resolve technical blockers. Share in-depth Google Workspace expertise to support the technical relationship with Google’s customers.
  • Create and deliver product and solution briefings, proof-of-concept work, demos and industry solutions. Demonstrate and prototype Google Cloud product integrations in customer/partner environments.
  • Recommend integration strategies, enterprise architectures, platforms, and application infrastructure required to successfully implement a complete solution using best practices on Google Cloud.
  • Recommend digital transformation solutions and best practices customized for each of our customers.
