Technical Program Manager, Compliance Readiness, Trust and Safety

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in a technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 2 years of experience managing programs with multiple workstreams, in compliance, risk management, audit, legal or consulting.
  • Experience working with cross-functional stakeholders.
  • Strong stakeholder management skills, with the ability to build relationships, align across multiple global teams and functions towards a mutually agreed upon solution.
  • Detail-oriented with a proactive problem solving mindset.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Advanced degree in a relevant field (e.g., Business, Compliance, Law).
  • Experience in any of the following areas: content, AI, privacy, consumer protection, or competition.
  • Experience in compliance, and implementing compliance programs.
  • Ability to manage and co-ordinate multiple projects simultaneously, particularly when managing with changing requirements, engaging demands, inputs from multiple stakeholders and external deadlines.
  • Ability to be detail-oriented with a proactive problem-solving mindset.
  • Excellent stakeholder management skills with the ability to build relationships, align across multiple global teams and functions towards a mutually agreed upon solution.

As a Technical Program Manager at Google, you’ll use your technical expertise to lead multi-disciplinary projects from start to finish. You’ll work with stakeholders to plan requirements, identify risks, manage project schedules, and communicate clearly with cross-functional partners across the company. You're equally comfortable explaining your team's analyses and recommendations to executives as you are discussing the technical tradeoffs in product development with engineers.At Google we work hard to earn our users’ trust every day. Trust & Safety is Google’s team of abuse fighting and user trust experts working daily to make the internet a safer place. We partner with teams across Google to deliver bold solutions in abuse areas such as malware, spam and account hijacking. A team of Analysts, Policy Specialists, Engineers, and Program Managers, we work to reduce risk and fight abuse across all of Google’s products, protecting our users, advertisers, and publishers across the globe in over 40 languages.

Responsibilities

  • Advocate for trust and safety equities to influence and shape emerging regulations.
  • Provide trust and safety leadership with early visibility on emerging regulations and thematic trends.
  • Collaborate with legal to understand regulatory requirements and convert them into concrete, actionable steps.
  • Co-ordinate with a wide range of cross-functional stakeholders across Google to program manage implementation.
  • Communicate status updates effectively and escalate risks appropriately.
