Senior Technical Program Manager, Advanced Infrastructure Solutions

Minimum qualifications:

Preferred qualifications:

  • 8 years of experience managing cross-functional or cross-team projects.
  • Experience leading energy efficiency, water efficiency, and carbon emission reduction projects.
  • Experience with water conservation technologies and practices in industrial or data center environments.
  • Experience interpreting and applying environmental regulations and environmental permit requirements to industrial facilities.
  • Understanding of the Greenhouse Gas Protocol and how it applies to data centers.

As a Technical Program Manager at Google, you’ll use your technical expertise to lead complex, multi-disciplinary projects from start to finish. You’ll work with stakeholders to plan requirements, identify risks, manage project schedules, and communicate clearly with cross-functional partners across the company. You're equally comfortable explaining your team's analyses and recommendations to executives as you are discussing the technical tradeoffs in product development with engineers.

As a member of Google’s global data center infrastructure strategy team, you will have the opportunity to be a part of a global organization working to make the company’s data centers more resilient, efficient, and sustainable. You will combine your creativity and knowledge with organizational skills and data-driven analysis to manage various initiatives that support the development and maintenance of Google’s data center fleet. The data center infrastructure strategy team plays a role with developing and procuring infrastructure solutions, managing infrastructure projects, and driving technical programs for our data center fleet.

The ML, Systems, & Cloud AI (MSCA) organization at Google designs, implements, and manages the hardware, software, machine learning, and systems infrastructure for all Google services (Search, YouTube, etc.) and Google Cloud. Our end users are Googlers, Cloud customers and the billions of people who use Google services around the world.

Our global impact spans software and hardware, including Google Cloud’s Vertex AI, the leading AI platform for bringing Gemini models to enterprise customers.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $183,000-$271,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Responsibilities

  • Lead the development and implementation of data center waste heat recovery partnerships, including feasibility studies, risk assessments, and benefit analysis for cooling system efficiency via applications in district heating, industrial processes, and other third-party uses.
  • Lead the development and implementation of on-site water recycling strategies and closed-loop system optimization, driving the adoption of advanced treatment and filtration technologies to minimize data center water consumption.
  • Developed and implement integrated cooling strategies focused on optimizing energy and water efficiency and reducing environmental impact through the adoption of innovative technologies like liquid and free cooling, alongside the analysis and improvement of existing systems.
  • Lead portfolio of projects to reduce scope Green House Gas emissions across Google's data center portfolio, overseeing sustainable procurement and supply chain management, leveraging lifecycle analysis for prioritization, and reporting performance metrics to executive leadership.
