  • 2 years of experience with software development in one or more programming languages, or 1 year of experience with an advanced degree.
  • 2 years of experience building developer tools (e.g., compilers, automated releases, code design and testing, test automation frameworks).
  • Experience with test automation development.
  • Experience with Engineering Tools and Infrastructure.
  • Experience with test design.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Master's degree or PhD in Computer Science or related technical fields.
  • 2 years of experience with data structures and algorithms.
  • Experience in distributed systems, OS/kernel, network system design and large-scale storage systems.

The YouTube Ads Engineering productivity team's goal is to enable the 1000+ member team to Move Fast and Not break things. And we do this by operating on 3 layers - that of google-standard test and production management systems, influencing and rearchitecting systems, and innovating on workflows as we are growing to continue adapting to the new agentic era to scale our team engagements with our stakeholders.Google Ads is helping power the open internet with the best technology that connects and creates value for people, publishers, advertisers, and Google. We’re made up of multiple teams, building Google’s Advertising products including search, display, shopping, travel and video advertising, as well as analytics. Our teams create trusted experiences between people and businesses with useful ads. We help grow businesses of all sizes from small businesses, to large brands, to YouTube creators, with effective advertiser tools that deliver measurable results. We also enable Google to engage with customers at scale.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $141,000-$202,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Your recruiter can share more about the specific salary range for your preferred location during the hiring process.

Responsibilities

  • Design, build next generation productivity solutions that support development activity of 1000+ YouTube Ads engineers across multiple binaries in the stack.
  • Own, develop, and execute on the long-term strategy to make YouTube Ads development infrastructure reliable, debuggable, fast, efficient, and future-proof.
  • Identify collaboration opportunities with other Engineering productivity teams that attempt to solve similar problems to implement generic solutions that will advance the Engineering productivity landscape within Google.
  • Provide development best practice consultation for Engineering teams, and identify development workflow inefficiencies and come up with best practice recommendations.
  • Drive adoptions of various home grown tools by influencing and enforcing minimal test coverage requirements across multiple partner teams.
