Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, a related field or equivalent practical experience.
  • 15 years of experience working in organizations spanning work across engineering, product, sales, program management, and operations.
  • 15 years of experience managing projects in engineering, finance, consulting, or operations organizations.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Comfort with changing specifications or standards, and ability to create the conditions in which the team feels comfortable and capable of working through in response to ambiguity.
  • Outstanding written and verbal communication skills that drive executional impact at scale.
  • Excellent problem-solving, negotiation, and organizational skills.

About the job

As Director, Technical Program Management for Global Data Centers (GDC), you will be a critical thought, strategy, and execution partner for the Vice President of GDC and the overall leadership team, be responsible for developing and executing on strategic and operational initiatives across the organization. Additionally, you will lead the following teams: Infrastructure Strategy and Sustainability team, the Data Center Economic Development team and GDC Strategy and Operations team. You will be responsible for leading the business cadence (i.e., planning and business reviews), analyzing key strategic business priorities and decisions, and driving operational excellence.

This role will have both strategic and operational components, and will require flexing across both types of workstreams including rhythm of the business, organizational health, managing and communicating through change. You will lead and contribute to the growth, development, and overall health of the organization.

In this role, you will partner with executive leadership in Google Cloud, their direct reports, and cross-functional partners to set and communicate strategy and decision-making with the broader organization. You will also work closely with key cross-functional partners to align strategies and business decisions. You will build partnerships across functions and will inspire trust by demonstrating excellent judgment and integrity, while also being willing to be direct and help execute when needed.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $272,000-$383,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Responsibilities

  • Lead Infrastructure Strategy and Sustainability, Data Center Economic Development, and GDC Strategy and Operations teams.
  • Act as a guide for leadership, highlighting key issues across the organization.
  • Serve as an honest confidant, developing and executing a comprehensive communication plan.
  • Integrate work streams, lead strategic initiatives, incubate critical projects, and build a team of professionals to support business operations, strategy and value tracking.
