Strategic Partnerships Development Manager, Messaging Infrastructure

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Technology, Engineering, Science, Economics, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 10 years of experience with developing partnerships in the global telecommunications domain.
  • 8 years of experience in managing telecom carrier partners and vendor relationships in product development with problem solving and data reporting including financial analysis.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Experience in project management and with cross-functional collaboration.
  • Knowledge of the telecommunication industry, interconnection standards, trends and developments.
  • Knowledge of communications technologies, products and services like messaging, wireless networks and communications platforms. (e.g., SS7, SMPP, RCS, SMS hubbing, gateway, A2P, P2A, 2FA, IMS, number portability, SS7, VPN, cloud or virtual numbers, short code and long code services, network API’s)
  • Ability to manage and prioritise multiple assignments, driving projects to completion with minimal guidance and attention to detail.

Google's line of products and services to our clients never stops growing. The Partnerships Development team is responsible for seeking and exploring new opportunities with Google's partners. Equipped with your business acumen and extensive product knowledge, you are right on the front line of interacting with our partners, and helping them find ways to grow using Google's newest product offerings. Your knowledge of relevant verticals and relationships with key industry players will help shape our great applications and content for products such as YouTube, Google TV and Commerce.

As a member of the team, you will use your commercial, technical and project management skills to open doors, while building and managing relationships with key industry partners. You will identify unique opportunities for partnership, driving innovation and planning specific services and agreements that meet commercial, technical, regulatory and product timing requirements. You will require to define the scope and strategy for initiatives, engage providers, present our product features and platform, negotiate, develop term sheets and close agreements working closely with Google's Products, Legal, Finance and Engineering teams. You will oversee and help Google operations teams onboard partners, and manage-in life commercial relationships, along with cost control, optimization.The Global Partnerships organization is responsible for exploring new opportunities with Google's partners. Google’s Global Partnerships team works with a wide range of partners to bring the best of Google to power their business. The Global Partnerships team supports Google’s own Product teams with essential partnerships to help Google’s user experiences in advertising, Search, Assistant, Maps, Travel, Shopping, Payments and more. Teams create product-enabling partnerships, go-to-market strategies and incubate business growth for a variety of products.

Responsibilities

  • Build and maintain relationships with global carrier and technology partners. Identify unique opportunities for partnership or expansion. Plan technical and commercial agreements that meet business, technical, and timing requirements.
  • Identify and negotiate agreements with partners in tandem with Google's Legal team.
  • Own programs of work from conception through to delivery, leading and prioritizing cross-functional efforts to deliver against project requirements.
  • Communicate, contribute and lead strategy internally. Collaborate with internal business, product and networking technical teams to understand requirements, identify new ways of working, lead and define initiatives in order to deliver incremental service and operational expansion.
  • Use data to optimize existing processes, drive commercial optimizations, developing new processes and infrastructure to improve internal efficiency, product satisfaction and experience.
