Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • 7 years of experience developing business strategies or managing cross-functional initiatives.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Experience with business development or agreement negotiation or partnerships.
  • Experience with news publishing, media, or digital strategy.
  • Experience contributing to operational projects working collaboratively across multiple functions and levels in a large and distributed organization.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills with sound business judgment and attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication skills to formulate and articulate contractual, technical, financial and value points with partners and internal Google teams.

Google's line of products and services to our clients never stops growing. The Partnerships Development team is responsible for seeking and exploring new opportunities with Google's partners. Equipped with your business acumen and extensive product knowledge, you are right on the front line of interacting with our partners, and helping them find ways to grow using Google's newest product offerings. Your knowledge of relevant verticals and relationships with key industry players will help shape our great applications and content for products such as YouTube, Google TV and Commerce.

In this role, you will be responsible for contributing to the development
of global programs designed to support our products needs and partners
growth strategies. You will work closely with the Global News Program team leads, regional business development teams, and cross-functional
stakeholders including product and legal teams to support the execution of commercial strategies that bring value to Google's News products, to users, and to our partners.You will be able to ramp up on product and stakeholder understanding, and have experience with product strategy, partner engagement, business development and agreement negotiation, and with building canonical documentation for go-to-market and business development processes. You will analyze and synthesize data and feedback to build evidence to support selection making. You will communicate clearly and influence decisions across cross-functional teams to solve issues across all levels of the organization.

The Global Partnerships organization is responsible for exploring new opportunities with Google's partners. Google’s Global Partnerships team works with a wide range of partners to bring the best of Google to power their business. The Global Partnerships team supports Google’s own Product teams with essential partnerships to help Google’s user experiences in advertising, Search, Assistant, Maps, Travel, Shopping, Payments and more. Teams create product-enabling partnerships, go-to-market strategies and incubate business growth for a variety of products.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $134,000-$196,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Your recruiter can share more about the specific salary range for your preferred location during the hiring process.

Responsibilities

  • Contribute to the creation of product narratives, go-to-market materials, and commercial strategies to support regional business development teams
    negotiating and closing partnerships with News partners.
  • Create and take ownership of key processes for tracking, documentation, approvals, and governance related to agreements and commercial strategies.
  • Work with partner managers and business development teams to gather partner feedback on new product opportunities to shape commercial approach and negotiations.
  • Analyze data to support business development teams to identify partnership opportunities, build partner pipelines, and evaluate program success metrics.
