  • 3 years of experience in management consulting or other equivalent business strategy experience.
  • Experience in analytics.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Experience communicating and influencing a range of audiences, including senior executives.
  • Experience in consumer internet and media industries.
  • Experience with SQL.
  • Exceptional business judgment and excellent financial modeling, spreadsheet software, and presentation software skills.
  • Excellent problem-solving and analysis skills.

About the job

The YouTube Strategy, Analytics & Finance (SAF) team’s mission is to make YouTube more valuable by identifying and steering the business towards the biggest opportunities, guiding the organization to make the best possible decisions, and enabling effective implementation with proactive and trusted risk management.

The SAF team works closely with YouTube leadership across the product, engineering, and business organizations to address challenges and opportunities across the company, help chart the long-term direction for YouTube, and provide analytics and decision support for the planning and steering of the business.

As a Strategy Associate for YouTube, you'll drive our team’s initiatives forward, developing the most robust answers for YouTube’s strategic priorities. You will drive projects commissioned by the leadership at YouTube, apply critical thinking, analyze data and synthesize recommendations on major business decisions, and catalyze successful launches with cross-functional teams. You'll collaborate with our leadership and work with colleagues across functions, including YouTube's Product, Business, Engineering, Partnerships, Marketing, Sales teams and more. You will be an integral part of the Strategy team, investing to further build the strategy community and being a culture-carrier for the team.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $118,000-$170,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Responsibilities

  • Work on the priorities of YouTube’s leadership and determine how best to solve the company’s biggest opportunities and most challenging problems.
  • Structure, launch and drive strategy workstreams including developing hypotheses, designing work plans, conducting analysis (including financial models), analyzing market/competitive trends, assessing business drivers and operating metrics.
  • Prepare presentations and communicate findings to YouTube’s leadership and the broader organization.
  • Work with cross-functional teams to align on recommendations, financial investments, launch plans, and enable a transition to long-term owners.
  • Be a culture-carrier for the team.
