Technical Program Manager III, Software Infrastructure and Automation, Google Workspace

Minimum qualifications:

  • 5 years of experience in program management.
  • Experience leading projects with inputs into technical designs, technical roadmaps, system integration, and implementation practices.

Preferred qualifications:

  • 5 years of experience managing cross-functional or cross-team projects.
  • Experience in leading AI feature development and understanding of machine learning pipelines and model deployment.
  • Experience in project management methodologies and tools.
  • Knowledge of software development life cycles and distributed systems.
  • Ability to influence without direct authority and drive consensus across teams.
  • Excellent data analysis and problem-solving skills.

As a Technical Program Manager at Google, you’ll use your technical expertise to lead complex, multi-disciplinary projects from start to finish. You’ll work with stakeholders to plan requirements, identify risks, manage project schedules, and communicate clearly with cross-functional partners across the company. You're equally comfortable explaining your team's analyses and recommendations to executives as you are discussing the technical tradeoffs in product development with engineers.

The team specializes in building features that grow Google Meet’s capabilities for both consumer and enterprise users, as well as how to increase users' adoptions of paid features. You will partner with Engineering and Product Management leads to help ensure the work is being defined and planned correctly, help unblock the team with cross-functional issues, and prepare the features for their GA launch.

AI will change the future of work in profound ways, and our products— Gmail, Docs, Drive, Calendar, Sheets, Vids and Meet are at the forefront. From pre-computed summaries for email threads, summaries for meetings, and videos created from a document using lifelike AI avatars, our AI opportunity is huge. Our mission is to meaningfully connect people so they can create, build, and grow together and as part of the team you can build how productivity tools should work 5-10 years into the future. You will work with model builders (Google DeepMind), work with exceptional leaders, and have the ability to impact billions of users across the world.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $156,000-$229,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Your recruiter can share more about the specific salary range for your preferred location during the hiring process.

Responsibilities

  • Define and refine technical requirements, risks/dependancies, scope, and success metrics for projects.
  • Drive process improvements and efficiencies within and across teams to enhance productivity and scalability.
  • Communicate program status, challenges, and solutions to all stakeholders, including executive leadership.
  • Mentor and guide junior TPMs and engineers on best practices in program management.
  • Identify and drive resolution of RTC and cross-functional process gaps that hinder efficiency and scaling.
