Minimum qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience.
- 5 years of software development experience in one or more programming languages with a foundation in data structures and algorithms.
- 3 years of experience in testing, maintaining, and launching software products, with 1 year in software design and architecture.
- Experience developing deep learning-based algorithms on large datasets.
- Experience in processing natural language and the application of Large Language Models (LLMs).
Preferred qualifications:
- Master's degree or PhD in Computer Science, AI, Machine Learning, or a related technical field.
- 3 years of experience collaborating in complex, cross-functional projects.
- 1 year of experience in a technical leadership role.
- Experience developing accessible technologies.

As a Senior AI/ML Software Engineer, you will lead the development of intelligent interfaces using NLP and LLMs. You will make a significant impact by unlocking the potential of the world's data for everyone in a fluid, collaborative environment.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $166,000-$244,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Responsibilities
- Design and deploy Natural Language Processing (NLP) systems for effortless natural language querying of our Data Commons knowledge graph.
- Implement advanced techniques to ground Large Language Models (LLMs) with Data Commons data for accurate and contextual insights.
- Own the full life-cycle of AI/ML projects, building scalable systems on GCP Vertex AI for user-facing features.
- Work closely with a small team in a startup-like setting, contributing to quick development cycles with a focus on quality.
- Contribute to our open-source platform and be willing to contribute across the stack, including data and potentially UI.
