About the job

The Finance Operations team manages Google's cash transactions on a global basis and ensures that Google's incoming and outgoing cash processes are controlled, effective and efficient. As a member of this team, you'll find innovative ways to manage our complex set of transactions. You'll make processes more efficient and scalable, work to ensure the highest level of quality of our operations, and proactively minimize operational risk. Externally, you collaborate with our extended workforce partners and internally, you will collaborate across the multiple areas of the Financial Operations team.

The Internal Compliance and Assurance team's role is to protect, guide and grow Google’s investment in cloud. We design and maintain policies to provide assurance that Google Cloud transactions are signed and approved by authorized employees. We implement and test controls that mean the data used on our financial reporting is complete, accurate, timely and reliable. We work both on paper, documenting procedures and requirements, and in real life, testing that work is performed effectively.

As a Contracting and Public Sector Specialist, you will take responsibility for cloud agreements for our Google Cloud Italy entity and drive compliance for our growing international public sector presence. You’ll provide vital support to our Sales organization in closing critical customer and partner agreements, whilst ensuring that we comply with Google’s Commitment and Signature Authority Policy.

This role will require on-call work on weekends and holidays on a recurring basis.

The name Google came from "googol," a mathematical term for the number 1 followed by 100 zeros. And nobody at Google loves big numbers like the Finance team when providing in depth analysis on all manner of strategic decisions across Google products. From developing forward-thinking analysis to generating management reports to scaling our automated financial processes, the Finance organization is an important partner and advisor to the business.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee signature and activation of all Google Cloud Italy agreements, acting as an authorized signatory of the company.
  • Oversee contracting operations for Google Cloud Commercial Agreements in EMEA (and sometimes other regions if necessary), including quarterly sales close procedures and on-call rosters, troubleshooting, policy queries, contract execution delays, and non-standard signature requests.
  • Work with cross-functional teams to drive a global Public Sector project aimed at reviewing, assessing and certifying public sector framework contracting obligations. Create reports to show progress on certifications and obligations.
  • Manage Public Sector processes and policies, partner with Public Sector cross-functional teams, review procedures and ensure operationalization and system readiness for all International Public Sector go to market activities.
