Minimum qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Physics, or a specialized field (e.g., Optics, Sensors, Audio/DSP, etc.), or equivalent practical experience.
- 4 years of experience working in a lab environment.
- Ability to lift/move 30lb (14kg) of equipment and ability to exert yourself
physically over extended periods of time, including frequent bending,
kneeling, climbing, pushing/pulling and lifting.
Preferred qualifications:
- Master's degree or PhD in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Physics, or a related field (e.g., Optics, Sensors, Audio/DSP).
- 7 years of experience working in a lab environment.
- Experience configuring network switches.
About the job
As a Specialized Hardware Test engineer, you will work with a team of hardware test engineers who are responsible for prototype bring-up, validation, and qualification of server, networking, and optical platforms. You will also be responsible for liaison between engineering design and test teams to ensure lab resources are accounted for and that we are ‘lab-ready’ for new products entering the R&D labs as well as supporting, sustaining and debugging efforts. In addition, you will ensure the labs are well organized and operating in a safe working environment.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $147,000-$216,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Responsibilities
- Perform Linux administrative tasks for platforms labs, which will include debugging system and network issues related to lab networks, engineering test setups, hosts, switches, routers, and programmers.
- Work with cross-functional teams on bring up tasks such as hardware assembly, programming with hardware tools, and SW/OS/firmware updates.
- Perform testing of prototype devices, utilize schematics for capturing data utilizing test equipment, modify scripts, and write test reports.
- Receive and manage hardware components and material for project builds, disperse hardware per allocation plan, and manage lab inventory of consumables to maintain a safe operating lab.
- Work with teams bringing up new labs and services to document lab layout, prioritize tasks, and develop processes and procedures for automation of lab operations.
