Partner Engagement Manager, Sports (English, Portuguese)

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • 5 years of experience in a technical project management or a customer-facing role.
  • 4 years of partnership management experience, including in the field of media and technology, OTT and streaming video.
  • Ability to communicate in English and Portuguese fluently to support client relationship management in this region.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Master’s degree in Business, Statistics, Mathematics, Economics, Engineering or Applied Science, or a related field.
  • 5 years of experience managing projects and working with analytics, software coding, or customer-side web technologies.
  • 2 years of experience in TV or digital live streaming video technologies, and ability to communicate, incorporate and shape emerging industry standards.
  • Experience aligning internal/external teams across engaging priorities.
  • Logistics planning experience with external partners during high pressure live events to identify issues and find resolutions.
  • Ability to travel up to 30% to cover live events that traditionally take place on nights, weekends, holidays, and internationally.

As a Partner Engagement Manager on YouTube’s Sports team, you will utilize video technology experience, industry knowledge and existing relationships to advance YouTube’s overall Sports strategy. You will collaborate with many cross-functional teams, both internally and externally to lead and execute premium live events from concept to broadcast. You will be responsible for solving complex operational challenges for some of YouTube’s top sports partners.

In this role, you will be organized with attention to detail, diligent planning and tracking progress of key milestones with our partners. You will be managing the unpredictable and ambiguous nature of live events anticipating roadblocks well in advance, communicating effectively in stressful situations, and escalating critical issues in a timely manner.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the onboarding and ongoing operational relationships with YouTube’s strategic TV and Sports partners, acting as their primary advocate across multiple internal teams and supporting their long term success through high quality partner management.
  • Leverage sports industry relationships to cultivate new sports content and technology opportunities and provide regular partner intelligence updates to cross-functional teams.
  • Represent YouTube’s operational interests during partner agreement negotiations.
  • Navigate complex conversations to drive results between stakeholders with potentially engaging priorities.
  • Partner with representative to ensure live stream success and influence production decisions being made in real time using YouTube’s creative goals.
