Business Development Manager, Content Acquisition, Play Games Partnerships

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • 7 years of experience in business development and partner relations within the Gaming Industry .
  • Experience working with C-level executives and cross-functionally across all levels of management.
  • Experience managing agreements or partnerships.
  • Experience within a video game publisher or platform responsible for the distribution of third-party content, or the acquisition of intellectual property rights.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Master's degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • Experience managing complex, end-to-end partnerships.
  • Experience working autonomously in a dynamic, ever-changing, and collaborative environment.
  • Experience using investigative insight and employing thoughtful structures to solve problems and communicate solutions, with strategic acumen.
  • Ability to identify potential business opportunities, assess financial/business benefit, structure agreements, and discuss terms with strategic partners.
  • Excellent communication skills to build and articulate business, financial, agreement and other value points with stakeholders across all levels of management.

Google's line of products and services to our clients never stops growing. The Partnerships Development team is responsible for seeking and exploring new opportunities with Google's partners. Equipped with your business acumen and extensive product knowledge, you are right on the front line of interacting with our partners, and helping them find ways to grow using Google's newest product offerings. Your knowledge of relevant verticals and relationships with key industry players will help shape our great applications and content for products such as YouTube, Google TV and Commerce.

The Global Partnerships organization is responsible for exploring new opportunities with Google's partners. Google’s Global Partnerships team works with a wide range of partners to bring the best of Google to power their business. The Global Partnerships team supports Google’s own Product teams with essential partnerships to help Google’s user experiences in advertising, Search, Assistant, Maps, Travel, Shopping, Payments and more. Teams create product-enabling partnerships, go-to-market strategies and incubate business growth for a variety of products.

Responsibilities

  • Develop relationships with game developers to unlock opportunities and maintain strong, long-term relationships. Manage and support a portfolio of game developers, or publishers’ titles distributed via play surfaces.
  • Identify new content and secure agreements with developers and publishers. Develop joint business plans, and align partner strategies with Google’s platform objectives. 
  • Partner with the Product team on the latest Platform objectives and align priorities on new and innovative titles. Act as an advocate for the Google platform, communicating Google platform updates, policies, and best practices to partners. 
  • Monitor the overall health of partner accounts and the performance of their content on the Google platform. This includes tracking key metrics, conducting performance analysis, and identifying areas for growth or improvement
  • Manage contractual obligations, discuss and execute commercial activities, and promotional opportunities for partner content.
