Business Development Manager, Financial Services, Public Sector

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Engineering, Computer Science, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 10 years of experience in business development, sales, or related fields within the Federal Civilian market.
  • Experience developing and closing agreement within the public sector.
  • Ability to travel up to 20% of the time.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Experience selling cloud computing solutions or other technology products/services to the public sector.
  • Understanding of the Federal Civilian procurement process and regulatory environment.
  • Ability to maintain a strong network of relationships within Federal Civilian Financial Services agencies.
  • Ability to work effectively in a matrixed organization.

As a Business Development Manager focused on the Federal Civilian Financial Services vertical market, you will play a critical role in driving significant business growth by developing a robust long-term opportunity pipeline while simultaneously accelerating near-term, large expansion. You will be successful in identifying, qualifying, and cultivating complex opportunities within the Federal Civilian space. You will work closely with field Sales managers, Partner managers, Industry executives, and technical Sales managers to achieve motivated growth goals.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $110,000-$164,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target salaries for the position across all US locations. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Responsibilities

  • Identify and cultivate long-term, opportunities within Federal Civilian Financial Services agencies, focus on  complex projects. Influence and execute targeted account plans to key agencies and build strong relationships with senior government officials and influencers. 
  • Drive immediate business expansion by identifying and developing opportunities for growth within existing accounts. Collaborate with field Sales teams to accelerate business agreements closures and maximize agreement value.
  • Conduct in-depth market research and competitive analysis to identify key trends, opportunities, and challenges. Develop and refine go-to-market strategies to effectively position GPS solutions.
  • Work closely with field Sales managers, Partner managers, industry executives, Technical Sales managers, and other internal stakeholders to develop winning proposals and execute successful sales campaigns.
  • Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with key decision-makers and influencers. Represent Google Public Sector at industry events and conferences.
