Customer Engineer, Data Analytics, Cloud Customer Engineering

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • 6 years of experience with cloud native architecture in a customer-facing technical or support role, with demonstrated success.
  • Experience with Big Data concepts.
  • Experience leading technical proof-of-concept engagements and providing technical support for bid responses and request for information/request for proposal (RFI/RFP) processes.
  • Experience with machine learning platforms (e.g., Vertex AI), Machine Learning operations principles, model development, deployment, and of generative AI concepts and applications.


Preferred qualifications:

  • Experience with architecture design, implementing, tuning, schema design, design technical architectures, customer requirements and query optimization of scalable and distributed systems.
  • Experience with developing data warehousing, data lakes, batch/real-time event processing, streaming, data processing (ETL/ELT), data migrations, data visualization tools and data governance on cloud native architectures.
  • Experience with aspects of cloud computing (infrastructure, storage, platforms and data), technical business, data analytics, or Big Data and the cloud market, competitive dynamics and customer buying behavior.
  • Ability to design and optimize solutions using leading data warehousing (e.g., BigQuery), data lake (e.g., Dataplex), and real-time analytics technologies.

About the job

In this role, you will leverage the technical ability in data platforms, machine learning, and artificial intelligence to engage directly with customers. You will uncover their critical business and technical requirements, then design and present practical solutions built on Google Cloud. You will work with our Business team and will introduce prospective customers to the transformative power of Google Cloud's Data and AI services, including BigQuery, Vertex AI, Dataproc, and more. You will also explain technical features, demonstrate their real-world impact, and expertly problem-solve any potential roadblocks, ensuring customers understand how our platform can revolutionize their data strategy and unlock new AI-aspiring capabilities.

Responsibilities

  • Work with the team to identify and qualify business opportunities, understand key customer objections, and develop the strategy to resolve technical blockers, in relation to aspects of the data lifecycle.
  • Share in-depth data analytics skills to support the technical relationship with customers, including technology advocacy, supporting bid responses, product and solution briefings, proof-of-concept work, and partnering directly with product management to prioritize solutions impacting customer adoption to Google Cloud.
  • Identify business and technical requirements, conduct full technical discovery and architect client solutions to meet gathered requirements.
  • Work directly with Google Cloud products to demonstrate and prototype integrations in customer and partner environments.
  • Prepare and deliver business messaging in an effort to highlight the Google Cloud value proposition, using techniques such as whiteboard and slide presentations, product demonstrations, white papers and Request for Information (RFI) responses.
