  • 1 year of experience designing, building, and operating Wi-Fi networks.
  • Experience in API development and management.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Experience in messaging network engineering and operations.
  • Experience in operational processes, including incident management, change management, performance management, and postmortem analysis.
  • Ability to communicate technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Knowledge of the SMS Messaging Wholesale/Retail Industry.

The Core team builds the technical foundation behind Google’s flagship products. We are owners and advocates for the underlying design elements, developer platforms, product components, and infrastructure at Google. We look across Google’s products to build central solutions, break down technical barriers and strengthen existing systems. As the Core team, we have a mandate and a unique opportunity to impact important technical decisions across the company.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $113,000-$161,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Responsibilities

  • Maintain Google's messaging infrastructure to ensure high operational efficiency and reliability. Proactively identify and implement improvements to optimize system performance and scalability.
  • Review, troubleshoot, and resolve messaging platform issues within defined Service Level Agreements (SLAs) and Objectives (SLOs).
  • Provide technical supervision and guidance to the internal Network Operations Center (NOC). Interact with messaging partners to provide product knowledge, escalate issues, and conduct performance-related discussions.
  • Participate in the design and implementation of next-generation messaging technologies. Identify and recommend future operational and technical capabilities to enhance the scale and performance of Google Telephony and Messaging.
  • Utilize problem-solving skills to diagnose and resolve messaging platform issues. Debug and troubleshoot client issues, providing clear and concise solutions.
