Manager, YouTube Monetization, Trust and Safety

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • 13 years of experience in data analytics, cybersecurity, program management, business strategy, technology research, anti-abuse, policy or related fields.
  • 2 years of experience in people management, leading teams.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Master's degree or PhD in a relevant field.
  • Experience in SQL, building dashboards, data collection/transformation, visualization/dashboards, or experience in a scripting/programming language (e.g. Python).
  • Experience working with engineering and product teams to create tools, solutions, or automation to improve user safety.
  • Experience working closely with policy teams.
  • Experience with machine learning.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills (written and verbal) and the ability to influence cross-functionally at various levels.

Trust & Safety team members are tasked with identifying and taking on the biggest problems that challenge the safety and integrity of our products. They use technical know-how, excellent problem-solving skills, user insights, and proactive communication to protect users and our partners from abuse across Google products like Search, Maps, Gmail, and Google Ads. On this team, you're a big-picture thinker and strategic team-player with a passion for doing what’s right. You work globally and cross-functionally with Google engineers and product managers to identify and fight abuse and fraud cases at Google speed - with urgency. And you take pride in knowing that every day you are working hard to promote trust in Google and ensuring the highest levels of user safety.

Google’s Trust and Safety team has the critical responsibility of protecting Google's users by ensuring online safety by fighting web abuse and fraud across Google products. The focus area of this team is ensuring brand safety on YouTube by enforcing on our monetization policies. On this team, you're a big-picture thinker and strategic leader. You will work globally and cross-functionally with other YouTube teams to navigate testing online brand safety escalations.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $206,000-$289,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Your recruiter can share more about the specific salary range for your preferred location during the hiring process.

Responsibilities

  • Lead a team of individuals, set and communicate individual and team priorities that support organizational goals. Meet regularly with individuals to discuss performance and development, and provide feedback and coaching.
  • Design and implement integrations between business objectives and business systems, including designing and building strategies that support these business systems.
  • Conduct strategic analysis, optimize business performance, and deliver within relevant product areas. This includes analyzing data, identifying trends, and developing solutions that improve business performance.
  • Manage projects involving multiple stakeholders, tight timelines, important organizational implications, and changing circumstances.
  • Use Google’s big data to conduct data-oriented analysis, architect metrics, synthesize information, solve problems, and influence business decision-making by presenting insights and market trends.
