About the job

Google's infrastructure needs go far beyond server computers. As Google's products and services scale the globe, the Strategic Negotiation team works behind the scenes to secure infrastructure for Google's future -- everything from underwater cables to physical data center space. As a Strategic Negotiator, you combine your deep market knowledge of a given sector with tech industry savvy to negotiate cost-effective solutions to support Google's infrastructure growth. You'll work with specific project teams on negotiating agreements, managing vendor and partner relationships and presenting agreements recommendations to our Tech leadership. Your successful negotiations have the potential to save Google millions of dollars in operating costs and impact every part of the business.

In this role, you will drive strategic initiatives and campaigns across the Asia-Pacific region to ensure cost effective power supplies, enable data center growth, and progress on our carbon-free energy goals. You will help drive Google’s data center expansion and execute policy advocacy and regulatory interventions to secure data center capacity and mitigate operational risks. This includes designing engagement strategies and working closely with coalitions to influence energy market regulations and unlock innovative pathways across various jurisdictions. Working with Government Affairs and other cross-functional teams, you will act as a key external representative for Google thought leadership, building relationships with critical stakeholders (government officials, regulators, utilities, and grid operators) to secure capacity and accelerate the clean energy transition. You will also develop partnerships with public and private sector parties. You will collaborate closely with internal teams to align programs and communicate Google's energy positions.
