YouTube Creator Experience Policy Manager

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in a Technology or Business field or equivalent practical experience.
  • 10 years of experience in data analytics, Trust and Safety, policy, cybersecurity, business strategy, or a related field.
  • 1 year of experience in people management or leading a team.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Master's degree or PhD in a related field.
  • Experience with machine learning.
  • Experience in SQL, building dashboards, data collection or transformation, visualization or dashboards, or programming language (e.g., Python).
  • Experience in working with engineering and product teams to create tools, solutions, or automation to improve user safety.
  • Experience in working with policy teams.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills with the ability to collaborate cross-functionally at multiple levels.

Trust and Safety team members are tasked with identifying and taking on the biggest problems that challenge the safety and integrity of our products. They use technical know-how, excellent problem-solving skills, user insights, and proactive communication to protect users and our partners from abuse across Google products like Search, Maps, Gmail, and Google Ads. On this team, you're a big-picture thinker and strategic team-player with a passion for doing what’s right. You work globally and cross-functionally with Google engineers and product managers to identify and fight abuse and fraud cases at Google speed - with urgency. And you take pride in knowing that every day you are working hard to promote trust in Google and ensuring the highest levels of user safety.

In this role, you will work with a global team to ensure that business generation policies are enforced to support Creators and Advertisers. You will manage policy enforcement team members to mitigate brand safety risk, managing urgent escalations and improve processes by driving projects. You will work globally and cross-functionally with YouTube stakeholders and product teams to navigate online brand safety situations. You will require occasional on-call work on weekends and holidays on a rotational basis and you will be exposed to graphic, controversial or upsetting content for policy reviews.At Google we work hard to earn our users’ trust every day. A team of Analysts, Policy Specialists, Engineers, and Program Managers, we work to reduce risk and fight abuse across all of Google’s products, protecting our users, advertisers, and publishers across the globe in over 40 languages.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $160,000-$237,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Responsibilities

  • Manage a team of policy analysts working across YouTube business generation to protect advertisers from brand safety violations through investigation, prevention and enforcement.
  • Partner with policy development team to launch updated policies to enable Creator business generation while protecting advertisers.
  • Partner with Creator Experience team to ensure that enforcement decisions are communicated in content areas.
  • Be responsible for managing incoming escalations from advertisers and creators. Work with the policy development team to rollout policy updates and improvements to the global team. Lead projects and cross-functional initiatives within Trust and Safety. Interact with executive stakeholders from Engineering, Legal, Product teams, etc.
