Senior Strategic Security Consultant, Mandiant, Google Public Sector

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Cyber-security, related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 5 years of experience assessing and developing cyber-security solutions and programs across security domains.
  • 5 years of experience in delivering cyber outcomes, identifying mission risks, and devising solutions.
  • Ability to travel up to 30% of the time as needed.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Certifications related to cloud platforms.
  • Experience implementing industry-leading practices around cyber risks and cloud security for clients’ cloud security frameworks using industry standards.
  • Experience with cloud governance, with the ability to convey governance principles to cloud computing in terms of policies.
  • Excellent time and project management skills.

About the job

As a Security Consultant, you will be responsible for helping clients effectively prepare for, proactively mitigate, and detect and respond to cyber security threats. You will have an understanding of computer science, operating system functionality and networking, cloud services, corporate network environments and how to apply this knowledge to cyber-security threats.

In this role, you will assist clients in navigating technically complex and high-profile incidents. You will also test client networks, applications and devices with knowledge of the latest techniques to help them defend against threats, and will be the technical advocate for information security requirements and provide an in-depth understanding of the information security domain. You will also articulate and present complex concepts to business stakeholders, executive leadership, technical contributors and lead complex engagements alongside cross-functional teams. You will also be tasked with helping clients configure and manage their deployments of the Mandiant Security Validation (MSV) platform.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $132,000-$194,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Responsibilities

  • Lead strategic cyber-security projects. Manage consulting engagements from start to finish, ensuring project teams meet client needs and align with their risk profiles.
  • Guide the evolution of security programs. Advise on building and transforming cyber-security programs, including the implementation of new security technologies.
  • Enhance cyber defense capabilities. Provide expert guidance on improving cyber defense programs, with a focus on areas like incident response, threat hunting, and threat intelligence.
  • Assess and mitigate cyber-security risks. Conduct thorough security reviews and maturity assessments to identify cyber risks, then provide clear, actionable recommendations to clients.
  • Validate security effectiveness. Help clients configure and manage platforms like Mandiant Security Validation (MSV) to proactively find and fix gaps in their detection and prevention controls.
