Head of Strategic Agency Programs, GCS (German, English)

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • 12 years of experience in agency partnerships, media buying, marketing or advertising agencies or digital marketing industry, and working with C-level executives and cross-functionally across all levels of management.
  • Experience in building and managing sales teams.
  • Ability to communicate in German and English fluently, to support Agency executive relationships in the region.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Experience in Agency and Partners ecosystem.
  • Knowledge of traditional and online marketing strategy and tactics.
  • Ability to own sales team operations across Germany, Austria, Switzerland (e.g., portfolio management, team building, KPI measurement, execution, and coaching).
  • Excellent cross-functional collaboration skills, and the ability to influence internal/external stakeholders.
  • Excellent people management and communication skills to lift, support, inspire, and grow the team and customers, with the ability to model and coach sales behaviors of team members.
  • Excellent problem solving skills, with the ability to take initiative and help teams understand performance data, identify opportunities, and scale success.

About the job

The Google Customer Solutions (GCS) team consists of strategists, analysts, advisers, and support specialists who collaborate to spot and analyze customer needs and trends. The GCS Agency Sales team drives customer success by partnering with media holding companies, independent agencies and their customers.

As the Head of Strategic Agency Programs, you will own the strategic idea and planning for agency sales teams, with a focus on deepening executive engagement with agencies. You'll lead and coach a high-performing team of sales managers, focusing on helping them manage client relationships, drive business growth and product growth goals, and meet OKRs. You'll be responsible for the strategy, forecasting, planning, and execution of team-wide account growth while contributing to the overall strategic direction of the team.

Responsibilities

  • Recruit, retain, motivate, and develop a high performing team of client-facing Strategic Agency Managers to ensure improved same-store growth, product adoption of Google’s AI Ads Solutions high agency satisfaction and enhanced portfolio health.
  • Deliver against ambitious business and product adoption goals, grow engagement and client satisfaction for agencies managed by the team.
  • Model and coach Strategic Agency Managers behaviors, including C-level engagement, effective questioning, objection handling.
  • Lead and influence executive-level agency relationships through key C-level meetings, business reviews, and industry event engagements.
  • Define and co-shape the future of the agency ecosystem, help to develop the necessary infrastructure and processes, initiate and run strategic initiatives to develop new and existing GCS agency businesses.
