Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • 3 years of experience in coding, developing test methodologies, writing test plans, creating test cases, and debugging.

Preferred qualifications:

  • 3 years of experience in specialized testing such as production testing, system integration testing, etc.
  • 1 year of experience working in a matrixed organization.
  • Experience in utilizing and building test automation to scale and improving efficiency.
  • Knowledge or experience in Android system components, interfaces, and protocols, with Mobile App development knowledge.
  • Ability to manage projects independently, with potential to influence and engage with cross-functional teams to shape testing culture and project direction.

As a Test Engineer, you navigate Google's massive codebase, identify weak spots and constantly design better and creative ways to break software and identify potential problems. In this role, you will collaborate with cross-functional teams across multiple sites, including Taiwan, the US, Shanghai, and London. Their scope encompasses infrastructure and tooling development, integration, field and carrier testing, pre-certification testing, quality analysis, and more.

The Google Pixel team focuses on designing and delivering the world's most helpful mobile experience. The team works on shaping the future of Pixel devices and services through some of the most advanced designs, techniques, products, and experiences in consumer electronics. This includes bringing together the best of Google’s software and hardware to build global smartphones and create transformative experiences for users across the world.

Responsibilities

  • Create or improve test automation, adopt or initiate test tools, infrastructure to increase test effectiveness and efficiency.
  • Develop test plans based on Product Excellence or test strategy. Conduct test plan reviews with engineers within one or multiple teams.
  • Conduct testing and quality analysis effectively per extensive knowledge on functionalities.
  • Improve existing test infrastructure or create new test infrastructure to increase efficiency and productivity in test case development, scheduling, or deployment.
  • Participate in product design review with Product Managers, Software or Hardware Engineers, and other stakeholders to contribute to product design, testability, and implementation.
