Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • 8 years of experience in program or project management in Hardware Manufacturing, Supply Chain, Factory Readiness related areas.
  • 5 years of experience in a leadership role.
  • Experience with different phases of product development from prototype to mass production to end of life.

Preferred qualifications:

  • MBA or Master's degree in Industrial Engineering, Supply Chain, Operations Research, Operations Engineering, or a similar field.
  • 8 years of experience managing cross-functional or cross-team projects.
  • Experience in the consumer technology market and with OEMs, Original Device Manufacturers (ODMs), and third-party suppliers.
  • Ability to adapt to achieve goals.
  • Excellent analytical, quantitative reasoning, problem solving, creativity, and strategic skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

As a Program Manager at Google, you’ll lead complex, multi-disciplinary projects from start to finish — working with stakeholders to plan requirements, manage project schedules, identify risks, and communicate clearly with cross-functional partners across the company. Your projects will often span offices, time zones, and hemispheres. It's your job to coordinate the players and keep them up to date on progress and deadlines.

The Platforms and Devices team encompasses Google's various computing software platforms across environments (desktop, mobile, applications), as well as our first party devices and services that combine the best of Google AI, software, and hardware. Teams across this area research, design, and develop new technologies to make our user's interaction with computing faster and more seamless, building innovative experiences for our users around the world.

Responsibilities

  • Manage and lead cross-functional teams within Google and with external partners to prepare for production ramp, product transitions, to optimize the supply chain, while accounting for risks, changes in schedule, or demand.
  • Drive manufacturing operational readiness in the factory, leveraging partner resources, as well as ongoing improvement across factories from ramp to End of Production (EOP).
  • Work with OEM partners to ensure performance goals for Quality, Turn Around Time (TAT), and Throughput (I/O/S) are met.
  • Anticipate production and operational risk, communicate and mitigate work with OEMs to manage line bring-ups, qualification, material availability, and quality issues. 
  • Secure the right level of capacity based on quarterly and weekly forecasts and horizons.
