Senior Financial Analyst, Cloud Product Finance

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Economics, Statistics, or another quantitative field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 7 years of experience in Financial Planning and Analysis (FP&A), consulting, or a related function, or an advanced degree.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Experience in spend management and budget planning cycles.
  • Experience presenting to executive management.
  • Experience with Spreadsheets/SQL/dashboard creation along with excellent technical skills.
  • Ability to set objectives and drive to results while building relationships across organizational boundaries.
  • Ability to self-direct work in an unstructured, fluid environment.
  • Excellent quantitative and presentation skills.

Financial Analysts ensure that Google makes sound financial decisions. As a Financial Analyst, your work, whether it's modeling business scenarios or tracking performance metrics, is used by our leaders to make company decisions. Working on multiple projects at a time, you are focused on the details while finding creative ways to take on big picture challenges.

As someone who knows the workings of the core Finance team inside and out, you'll lead individual projects to transform planning, tracking and control processes. You'll provide senior level management with insightful recommendations, planning and reporting support. The name Google came from "googol," a mathematical term for the number 1 followed by 100 zeros. And nobody at Google loves big numbers like the Finance team when providing in depth analysis on all manner of decisions across Google products. From developing forward-thinking analysis to generating management reports to scaling our automated financial processes, the Finance organization is an important partner and advisor to the business.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $137,000-$201,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Responsibilities

  • Own deliverables of the Google Cloud Platform (GCP) Datacenter Efficiency work stream and support the entire GCP portfolio.
  • Serve as a finance business partner to Cloud Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A), Efficiency, Capacity Planning, and Product leaders. Help unblock resource constraints by guiding the team.
  • Land a plan across the GCP Portfolio, aligning inputs, Key Performance Indicators, and margin and ensure that the goal is integrated into the plan.
  • Drive financial Long-Range Plan (LRP) for GCP Efficiency, evaluating multi year resource opportunity in context of GCP Infrastructure and Operating Margin goals. Partner with teams as needed to identify and execute savings to help close any gaps to AOP.
  • Support data pulls, modeling, margin optimization decision support, and Return on Investment analysis requests from the Cloud FP&A, engineering and capacity planning leadership teams as needed.
