Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • 13 years of experience in a policy, legal, Trust and Safety, or technology environment.
  • 4 years of experience in leadership and people management with a focus on hiring, mentoring, and retaining talent.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Experience leading cross-functional projects across organizational boundaries.
  • Understanding of how the brand safety works for advertisers on internet platforms.
  • Ability to work independently and complete projects from beginning to end and in a timely manner.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively to complete projects from beginning to end and in a timely manner.
  • Ability to navigate and influence cross-team stakeholders at executive levels.
  • Excellent written, verbal, and communication skills to clearly communicate technical concepts with multiple cross-regional and cross-functional stakeholders.

About the job

As a Manager for YouTube Monetization within Trust and Safety, you work with a global team from Policy and Enforcement teams to ensure that the business generation policies are enforced effectively to support both Creators and Advertisers. You will manage the policy enforcement team to mitigate brand safety risk by swiftly handling urgent escalations and improve the processes by driving the most strategic projects. You work globally and cross-functionally with YouTube stakeholders and product teams to navigate challenging online brand safety situations. This role will require occasional on-call work on weekends and holidays on a rotational basis.

Google’s Trust and Safety team has the critical responsibility of protecting Google's users by ensuring online safety by fighting web abuse and fraud across Google products. The focus area of this team is ensuring brand safety on YouTube by enforcing the business generation policies. On this team, you are a big-picture thinker and strategic leader. You work globally and cross-functionally with other YouTube teams to navigate challenging online brand safety escalations.

A team of Analysts, Policy Specialists, Engineers, and Program Managers, we work to reduce risk and fight abuse across all of Google’s products, protecting our users, advertisers, and publishers across the globe in over 40 languages.

Responsibilities

  • Manage a team of policy analysts working across YouTube Monetization to protect advertisers from brand safety violations through investigation, prevention and enforcement.
  • Responsible for handling incoming urgent escalations from advertisers and creators.
  • Work with the policy development team to rollout policy updates and improvements to the global team.
  • Lead projects and cross-functional initiatives within Trust and Safety, interact with executive stakeholders from Engineering, Legal, Product teams and more.
  • Come up with a long-term strategy and unpack it into projects and deliverables for the team.
