Technical Program Manager, Health and Home Engineering Productivity

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent practical experience.
  • 2 years of experience in managing projects.
  • Experience in System Testing, Product Lifecycle Management, Software Test Engineering, Program Management, Quality Assurance, Release and Launch Readiness.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Experience with delivering successful platform software with excellent project management skills.
  • Knowledge of test methodologies with the ability to prioritize quality.
  • Ability to evaluate and communicate risks and mitigations.
  • Excellent investigative, problem-solving, communication and organizational skills.

As a Technical Program Manager at Google, you’ll use your technical expertise to lead complex, multi-disciplinary projects from start to finish. You’ll work with stakeholders to plan requirements, identify risks, manage project schedules, and communicate clearly with cross-functional partners across the company. You're equally comfortable explaining your team's analyses and recommendations to executives as you are discussing the technical tradeoffs in product development with engineers. The Platforms and Devices team encompasses Google's various computing software platforms across environments (desktop, mobile, applications), as well as our first party devices and services that combine the best of Google AI, software, and hardware. Teams across this area research, design, and develop new technologies to make our user's interaction with computing faster and more seamless, building innovative experiences for our users around the world.

Responsibilities

  • Develop Engineering Productivity execution strategies. Provide quality insights to program deliveries.
  • Influence cross-functional teams on roadmap planning and decisions at milestone with a mindset to ship quality software.
  • Work with Technical Program Manager (TPgMs) across the organization to improve processes.
  • Prioritize program goals, understand and translate other stakeholder’s needs into program goals and prioritized deliverables and contribute to decisions on prioritizing goals and deliverables.
  • Define the scope of projects and develop, execute, or manage project plans for supported programs.
