Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Physics, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Vision or a related field.
  • 3 years of experience in display metrology and analysis.
  • Experience with metrology principles and display measurement technologies, including colorimeters, photometers, and instruments used in display technology.
  • Experience with calibrating customized setups and camera-based systems, including color science and visual perception.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Certification in Display Metrology.
  • Experience working with advanced display technologies (uled, LCOS, OLED, LCD, etc.).
  • Experience with analyzing calibration data, identifying trends, and making informed decisions to ensure measurement consistency.
  • Familiarity with calibration tools, optical setups and automated measurement systems.
  • Understanding of international metrology standards and compliance requirements.

We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Metrologist Display Engineer to join our microLED display test team. In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring the precision and reliability of measurement instruments, focusing on colorimeters, spectrometers, panel measurements, and related technologies. As a technical specialist in metrology, you will oversee calibration of custom display measurement solutions, develop measurement standards, analyze data, and maintain high levels of accuracy in our laboratory and manufacturing facility.

Google's Raxium display group has established a revolutionary semiconductor materials display technology that enables new functionality in display products, bringing to users a closer and more natural linkage between the digital and physical realms in applications such as augmented reality (AR) and light-field display. With start-up roots and a state-of-the-art compound semiconductor fab in Silicon Valley, Raxium is seeking to build upon its engineering team with an aim to disrupt next-generation display markets.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $126,000-$181,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Responsibilities

  • Develop calibration strategies, regularly calibrate and verify the accuracy of colorimeters (RV, IS, Westbro), display and related instrumentation using established metrology standards and procedures.
  • Define, manage, and maintain the organization’s measurement standards for panel and colorimetric instruments, ensuring traceability to national and international standards.
  • Analyze calibration data from colorimeters and displays to identify trends, detect potential discrepancies, and ensure consistent measurement precision across operations.
  • Develop and optimize calibration procedures for new measurement equipment or changes in standards to ensure accuracy in panel measurement systems and related tools.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of calibration results, procedures, and any deviations from standards, guaranteeing compliance with quality management systems and regulatory requirements for metrology practice.
