Finance Director, Google Customer Solutions

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Science, Engineering, Economics, other technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 15 years of experience in finance, management consulting, corporate strategy or similar analytical, project management experience.
  • Experience managing analytics projects from inception to delivery, including developing structured solutions.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Knowledge of advanced analytics techniques and capabilities; track record of pushing the boundaries of data and developing novel approaches to shed new light on difficult questions.
  • Understanding of Google’s ads products.
  • Strong business acumen with an understanding of business drivers and value-creation.
  • Demonstrated ability to partner with executive stakeholders to define analysis requirements & priorities, develop and execute strategy, and balance short vs long-term deliverables.
  • Proven ability to work in a cross-functional, fast-paced environment.

About the job

The Finance Operations team manages Google's cash transactions on a global basis and ensures that Google's incoming and outgoing cash processes are controlled, effective and efficient. As a member of this team, you'll find innovative ways to manage our complex set of transactions. You thrive on making processes more efficient and scalable, you work to ensure the highest level of quality of our operations and you proactively minimize operational risk. Externally, you collaborate with our outsourcing partners and internally, you collaborate across the five areas of the Financial Operations team: Global Revenue Operations, Procure to Pay, Electronic Payment Services, Business Process Outsourcing, and Payroll.

Our team owns the finance strategy, revenue narratives, and delivers insights to enable long-term goals of Google Customer Solutions (GCS). GCS is the sales organization that leads ads business generation through the SMB segment and accounts for a significant part of Ads revenue growth.

In this role you, will lead teams of analysts to drive analytics and insights across - Direct, 3P, and Unmanaged portfolios in GCS EMEA.

You’ll develop and execute on an analytical agenda that spans regular monitoring of business generation health, identifying opportunities and risks, and using advanced analytics to push the boundaries of understanding that will inform decision making to elevate same store program outcomes and effectiveness.

In addition, you will partner with the GCS EMEA leadership team. You will act as a trusted advisor, deliver high-impact business analytics, and distill crisp insights on complex, ambiguous topics, helping the senior management team make better business decisions.

Responsibilities

  • Own the business narrative for GCS EMEA, providing critical context and enabling operating accuracy for ongoing management of the business, strategic planning, and drive program effectiveness.
  • Lead weekly business review with GCS EMEA Leads (GEL), providing insight into drivers of same store programs business performance (Ads), covering near and long-term trends as well as underlying drivers.
  • Partner with GCS Finance leads to drive solid process cadence on quarterly quota setting and annual program planning. 
  • Lead the team to develop and execute an ambitious analytics agenda. Advocate business analytics across GCS programs, collaborate with global and regional finance teams through core groups.
