Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • 8 years of experience in software development.
  • 5 years of experience in testing, and launching software products.
  • 5 years of experience with Android application development.
  • 3 years of experience with software design and architecture.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Master’s degree or PhD in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field.
  • 8 years of experience with data structures/algorithms.
  • 3 years of experience in a technical leadership role leading project teams and setting technical direction.
  • 3 years of experience working in a complex, matrixed organization involving cross-functional, or cross-business projects.
  • Experience delivering mobile application interfaces written in a reactive framework such as Jetpack Compose, React, or Swift UI.

The Extended Reality (XR) team’s mission is to give people superhuman abilities by making information instantly and intuitively accessible. The Human Interface team enables seamless human-computer interactions centered on emerging Artificial Intelligence technology. We build foundational input and AI-driven interfaces for Android XR that give our users these superhuman abilities on next-generation wearable devices.

The Google Augmented Reality team is a group of experts tasked with building the foundations for great immersive computing and building helpful, delightful user experiences. We're focused on making immersive computing accessible to billions of people through mobile devices, and our scope continues to grow and evolve.

Responsibilities

  • Contribute to technical roadmaps by proposing projects with strategic value, and helping to validate product management direction and developing estimates.
  • Influence and coach a distributed team of developers. Empower the team to build delightful and OEM-extensible experiences through technical mentorship and architectural oversight.
  • Facilitate alignment and clarity across teams on goals, outcomes, and timelines. Provide documentation, reference code, and direct support for OEM partner integrations.
  • Manage project priorities, deadlines, and deliverables. Ensure launches are delivered on time and at a high degree of quality by building for testability, assisting with complex issue triage, and meeting compliance launch criteria.
  • Design, guide and vet systems designs across System UI, and write product or system development code to solve ambiguous problems. Support UX by enabling rapid prototyping by providing developing feasibility analysis for designs.
