Cloud Revenue Accounting Lead

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 7 years of experience in finance from public accounting or a public multinational company, with 3 years of experience in operational revenue accounting and reporting.
  • Experience with US GAAP accounting principles, including ASC 606.
  • Experience with SQL, reporting and stakeholder management.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Professional Accounting Qualification: CPA, ACA, CA or equivalent.
  • Experience with SAP and SQL along with excellent presentation and data visualization skills.
  • Ability to collaborate in a team environment.
  • Ability to stay organized, while seeking opportunities for continuous improvement.
  • Ability to adapt and lead in a fluid, cross-functional environment.

About the job

Google Cloud Controllers manage the core accounting and compliance responsibilities at Google while working closely with the business and finance partners to continue enabling the exceptional growth of Google Cloud.

As a member of this team, you know the accounting principles and the full financial process. You will advise on financial and accounting matters and will review, analyze, and interpret data for accounting and reporting. Every day is a new challenge, and you are continuously looking for ways to help our team get better at what we do, in the most efficient way possible. You will collaborate with the global team. You advocate for standard procedures and are willing to contribute to tasks as needed to achieve business objectives. You maintain a focus on detail and use your problem-solving skills to support Google's goals.
The US base salary range for this full-time position is $125,000-$183,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Responsibilities

  • Drive business growth through risk management and accounting solutions, ensuring timely revenue reporting and external disclosures under ASC 606.
  • Ensure proper revenue recognition in accordance with US Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), including ASC 606 and SSP analysis, and maintain balance sheet reconciliation.
  • Develop and leverage knowledge of Google products and order-to-cash processes to improve revenue accounting operations and reporting for existing and new product launches.
  • Identify and implement technology solutions to automate revenue accounting, enhancing timeliness and mitigating risks through knowledge of Google Cloud products and cross-functional engagement.
  • Document revenue accounting operations and reporting processes to design, implement, and monitor financial reporting controls (including SOX scope), and contribute to process improvements through cross-team initiatives and timely completion of statutory audits.
