Senior Data Scientist, Search Data Science and Engineering

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Statistics, Mathematics, Data Science, Engineering, Physics, Economics, or a related quantitative field.
  • 8 years of work experience using analytics to solve product or business problems, performing statistical analysis, and coding (e.g., Python, R, SQL) (or 5 years work experience with a Master's degree).
  • Experience with business intelligence and dashboard creation tools.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Master's degree in Statistics, Mathematics, Data Science, Engineering, Physics, Economics, or a related quantitative field.
  • Applied experience with machine learning on large datasets.
  • Experience in growth data science.
  • Ability to work and complete projects independently, and work with cross-functional teams in a fast-moving environment.

About the job

Search Data Science team's goal is to drive Search product excellence and growth with data insights. We perform strategic analysis to help Search organizations make investment decisions. We do research on operational metrics for Search products to help them make data driven decisions. We work closely with product teams end-to-end to help them build products. This includes headroom analysis, product market fit, experiment analysis, and help leadership make trade-offs between engaged metrics (e.g., richness of experience versus search latency). We provide insights to drive responsible growth for Search.

As a Data Scientist, you will help improve the user experience and drive growth for a product with users. You will use user log analysis, experimentation, and data visualization to deliver more accurate information and ensure users can meet their needs.The US base salary range for this full-time position is $156,000-$229,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Your recruiter can share more about the specific salary range for your preferred location during the hiring process.

Responsibilities

  • Influence across teams to align resources and direction.
  • Work closely with cross-functional team members within App Growth organization to define and execute strategies for acquiring and retaining users on both iOS and Android platforms.
  • Provide quantitative support, market understanding and a strategic perspective to our partners throughout the organization. Interact cross-functionally with a wide variety of teams, and work closely with Product Manager and Engineer leads to identify growth and quality opportunities for the product.
  • Work with large data sets and solve non-routine  challenges, bring accuracy and statistical methods to the challenges of measuring quality, improving consumer products, and understanding the behavior of end-users.
  • Make compelling business recommendations with effective presentations of findings at multiple levels of stakeholders, and storytelling with data.
