Minimum qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Data Science, similar technical field of study, or equivalent practical experience.
- 15 years of professional experience as a Data Science or Engineering leader.
Preferred qualifications:
- Ability to initiate and lead successful improvement initiatives across organizations.
- Innovative problem-solving skills, ability to turn ambiguity into clear solutions, and comfortable with new technology and out-of-the-box thinking.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to inspire commitment and drive success within teams and peers.
About the job
As the Principal Data Scientist for Google Cloud Business Platform (GCBP) IX, you will serve as a data owner and metrics leader. You will drive decisions about our core metrics, logging and infrastructure, and shape how our organization measures success. This role has a broad remit across GCBP’s entire product area, which will require prioritization and diving deep into both internal and external product areas, ranging from Cloud’s internal Sales, Support and Marketing systems, and flagship external experiences like Google Cloud, Marketplace, Partner Hub, and Billing. You will work proactively and collaboratively at the intersection of data analytics, strategy, product development and business, and deliver metrics and insights that are reviewed by executive leadership. This is a high-visibility and high-impact role, and has the potential to transform our business.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $294,000-$414,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Responsibilities
- Drive cross-functional collaboration across Product, Engineering, Marketing, and Operations teams to prioritize initiatives and ensure seamless execution.
- Lead the development and implementation of advanced analytics techniques, including predictive modeling, machine learning, and AI algorithms, to extract actionable insights from large datasets.
- Establish KPIs, metrics, and performance dashboards to monitor key business metrics, track progress, and identify areas for improvement.
