Minimum qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
- 8 years of experience in software development.
- 5 years of experience testing, and launching software products, and 3 years of experience with software design and architecture.
- 5 years of experience leading ML design and optimizing ML infrastructure (e.g., model deployment, model evaluation, data processing, debugging, fine tuning).
Preferred qualifications:
- Master’s degree or PhD in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field.
- 8 years of experience with data structures/algorithms.
- 5 years of experience leading ML design and optimizing ML infrastructure (e.g., model deployment, model evaluation, data processing, debugging, fine tuning).
- 3 years of experience in a technical leadership role leading project teams and setting technical direction.
- 3 years of experience working in a complex, matrixed organization involving cross-functional, or cross-business projects.
- Passion for fitness/health, with an innovative mindset to work in a dynamic, fast-moving team.

The Health Platforms and Devices team builds innovative products and services that help our users live longer, healthier lives. We bring together the best of Google technologies and AI, health behavior science, and user-centered design to help users organize the health and wellness data, get insight from it, and take action toward their health goals. We do this with a suite of apps, services, and health wearables. We aim to make consumer health more personal, proactive, and actionable.
Responsibilities
- Lead the development of advanced sensor algorithms and an agentic framework to fuse them into an advanced health coach.
- Design and implement critical system components (both as an IC and through the team). Vet design proposals, assign and track tasks to milestones.
- Keep abreast of the latest in the AI world both to educate the team and to help steer the products.
- Build tools to support iteration and innovation. Help to establish processes to productionize the research work through collaboration with other teams.
- Demonstrate individual contributor skills and an innovation mindset.
