About the job

As the Director, Global Commodity Management, you will lead the strategic sourcing and commercial management of key Tensor Processing Unit (TPU), and Custom Silicon products and suppliers critical to Google's internal and public cloud infrastructure. You will directly partner with the Custom Silicon and Manufacturing team within Cloud Supply Chain Operations (CSCO) to secure optimal commercial outcomes from our most important suppliers. Your leadership in this partnership will be instrumental in enabling Google's platforms and programs.

In this role, you will lead negotiations, manage agreements, conduct commercial analysis, and oversee supplier relationships. Leveraging your commercial acumen, you will facilitate supplier solutions that enable the innovative products designed by Google's engineers.

Furthermore, you will identify Sourcing and Supplier Relationship Management best practices for all CSCO commodity teams and will drive the adoption of these practices to continuously improve Google's supplier partnerships and management through data-driven insights and scalable processes.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $253,000-$356,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute comprehensive commodity strategies. Define and implement long-term strategic sourcing plans for TPU and Custom Silicon, encompassing market analysis, risk assessment, supplier identification and qualification, and technology roadmapping to ensure a resilient and cost-effective supply base that meets Google's evolving needs.
  • Lead complex negotiations and agreement management. Lead high-stakes negotiations with key suppliers, developing and managing complex contractual agreements (i.e., pricing, capacity, quality, and service level agreements) to optimize value, mitigate risk, and ensure favorable commercial terms that align with Google's business objectives.
  • Drive continuous improvement in supplier performance and relationships. Establish and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) for strategic suppliers, managing supplier performance, driving continuous improvement initiatives, and fostering collaborative relationships to ensure consistent quality, on-time delivery, and proactive problem resolution.
