Software Engineering Manager, Enterprise Data Foundations

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 8 years of experience with software development in one or more programming languages (e.g., Python, C, C++, Java, JavaScript).
  • 3 years of experience in a technical leadership role; overseeing projects, with 2 years of experience in a people management, supervision/team leadership role.
  • Experience in developing software applications using TypeScript.
  • Experience with type systems, object-oriented programming, and JavaScript frameworks.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Experience with Angular TypeScript, Javascript, and Data Visualization.
  • Experience with back-end technologies using Java.
  • Experience writing front-end tests with a framework.
  • Experience designing and implementing efficient large-scale distributed systems through the full project life-cycle.
  • Familiarity with web services and API ecosystems, or client-server environments.
  • Passionate about front-end excellence and user experience.

Responsibilities

  • Manage project goals, contribute to product strategy, and help develop teams.
  • Hire, coach and mentor engineers to design and implement highly available, scalable and reliable services.
  • Develop tools and processes to improve software engineering productivity of the team and organization. Design and implement scalable solutions that are highly performant, secure, and efficient for Googlers.
  • Work closely with cross-functional, cross-organization and cross-site teams to deliver projects from scoping to full production landing. Own the execution end-to-end and influence without authority.
  • Contribute to the design, development and maintenance of the product. Collaborate with other teams to identify and create common shareable infrastructure across tools.
