Customer Engineer, Infrastructure and Application Modernization, GCP (German, English)

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • 4 years of experience with cloud native architecture in a customer-facing technical role (e.g., Sales Engineer, Solutions Architect, Technical Consultant) in the enterprise software or cloud industry.
  • Experience with one or more public cloud platforms (e.g., Google Cloud Platform, etc.).
  • Ability to travel across Austria as required.
  • Ability to communicate in German and English fluently as this is a customer-facing role that requires interactions with local stakeholders.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Master's degree in a technical field or equivalent practical experience.
  • Certifications in Google Cloud.
  • Experience designing and implementing solutions across a wide range of cloud services (e.g., IaaS, PaaS, Data Analytics, Machine Learning, Networking, Security).
  • Experience with scripting languages (e.g., Python, Bash) or programming languages (e.g., Java, Go, Node.js).
  • Understanding of enterprise IT architectures, including on-premise, hybrid, and multi-cloud environments.
  • Familiarity with containerization technologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes).

We are seeking a motivated and technically proficient Customer Sales Engineer to join our Google Cloud Enterprise team in Austria. In this role, you will be a critical technical resource for our sales organization, partnering with Account Executives to drive the adoption and success of Google Cloud solutions across a different range of enterprise customers. You will leverage your technical expertise to understand customer issues, design compelling solutions, and demonstrate the value of Google Cloud's extensive product portfolio.

Responsibilities

  • Design and present comprehensive Google Cloud solutions, encompassing infrastructure, platform, and application services that address customer needs.
  • Maintain a broad and up-to-date understanding of Google Cloud product portfolio, including Compute Engine, Kubernetes Engine, BigQuery, Cloud AI Platform, networking, security, and developer tools. 
  • Lead and execute technical in-depth search, proofs of concepts (PoCs), and pilot projects to validate proposed solutions and demonstrate their technical feasibility and business value.
  • Act as a trusted technical advisor to customers, guiding them through their cloud adoption journey, addressing technical concerns, and providing best practice recommendations.
  • Work closely with product management, engineering, and professional services teams to relay customer feedback, influence product roadmaps, and ensure successful customer deployments.
