Product Manager II, AI Innovation and Research

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • 5 years of experience in product management or related technical role.
  • 2 years of experience taking technical products from conception to launch.
  • Experience in product management, including technical product development with cross-functional teams (e.g., Research Scientists, Software Engineers, UX/UI, and Product/Program Management).
  • Experience with applications of machine learning, AI, image processing, computer vision, or computational photography and videography.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Experience launching innovative consumer-facing creative features.
  • Experience driving consensus and decisions across multiple partner teams.
  • Experience and passion in creative photography and videography.
  • Knowledge of machine learning or image/video processing algorithms for imagery applications.
  • Ability to learn technical concepts and apply them to product design.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to present to leadership.

Our team works closely with creative engineers, designers, marketers, etc. to help design and develop technologies that improve access to the world's information. We're responsible for guiding products throughout the execution cycle, focusing specifically on analyzing, positioning, packaging, promoting, and tailoring our solutions to our users.

In Platforms and Devices (P&D) AI Innovation and Research (AIR), we collaborate with the leading professionals in the functional areas of computer vision, graphics, machine learning, and AI to develop techniques to solve problems for the consumer facing imagery space.

As a product manager in this space, you will work with research scientists to create new approaches to solve consumer issues, and apply those approaches by designing, and implementing features that help to drive Google level goals.

The Platforms and Devices team encompasses Google's various computing software platforms across environments (desktop, mobile, applications), as well as our first party devices and services that combine the best of Google AI, software, and hardware. Teams across this area research, design, and develop new technologies to make our user's interaction with computing faster and more seamless, building innovative experiences for our users around the world.

Responsibilities

  • Partner with research counterparts to drive new investments and a product/tech road map for innovation.
  • Execute on 0 to 1 differentiating AI video experiences that can disrupt the smartphone space.
  • Collaborate with Google Deepmind and across product areas like Pixel Camera, and Google Photos to build these experiences.
  • Work with Marketing, Comms, and creative agencies to tell the story of these experiences.
