Program Manager, XR Strategy and Operations (Fixed-Term Contract)

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in a technical field or equivalent practical experience.
  • 10 years of experience in program management and portfolio management.
  • 5 years of experience in change management, organizational change initiatives, or communication plans.
  • Experience supporting senior executive leaders in driving strategy and operational efficiency.
  • Experience in stakeholder management and cross-functional collaboration.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Experience streamlining processes, optimizing operational cadences, and driving executional excellence in a large, fast-paced, matrixed organization.
  • Experience in developing and implementing comprehensive executive communication strategies for external and internal audiences.
  • Ability to influence executive leaders, stakeholders and cross-functional partners.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex concepts clearly, concisely, and persuasively to diverse audiences.

In this role, you will be instrumental in sustaining momentum across strategic initiatives, establishing and sustaining effective portfolio management, enhancing operational efficiency, and ensuring seamless communications within our dynamic and rapidly evolving XR organization. You will act as a trusted partner to executive leadership, meticulously streamline processes, orchestrate across a breadth and high volume of stakeholders and teams with competing priorities, and relentlessly drive executional and operational excellence.

We're building a future where lightweight XR devices pair with helpful AI to augment human intelligence, offering personalized, conversational, and contextually aware experiences.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $221,000-$311,000. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Responsibilities

  • Serve as a trusted partner to multiple XR leaders, driving portfolio management and facilitating weekly priority and alignment sessions across teams.
  • Lead critical change management initiatives across XR, orchestrating communication reviews, reorganizations, team forums, etc. Implement executive communication strategies, including supporting VP social media presence for major events, executive external presentations, and ensuring consistent delivery of internal newsletters.
  • Manage special projects aligned with key strategic priorities, including: cross-functional partnerships around our patent portfolio, access controls, leak prevention, team forums, and leadership offsites.
  • Streamline inefficiencies and deliver executional excellence across engineering organizations. Enable leaders in key operational efforts such as rhythm of business, executive presentations, hiring, site visits. 
  • Proactively engage, influence, and build strong relationships with a breadth of key stakeholders across various levels and functions within XR and Google-wide, often with competing priorities.
