Senior Supplier Quality Engineer, Interconnect

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or equivalent practical experience.
  • 8 years of experience in the interconnect commodities industry, covering component, quality and reliability.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Master's degree in Electrical, Mechanical or a related engineering field.
  • 12 years of experience in the interconnect commodities industry, covering component, quality and reliability.
  • Experience in setting up manufacturing assembly processes, driving product launches and assembly process optimization within manufacturing operations.
  • Experience in project management, and executive communication.

About the job

The Global Hardware Quality and Reliability (GHQR) team is under the Cloud Supply Chain and Operations (CSCO) team, responsible for components and solutions.

In this role, you will involve working with supplier partners and internal teams, managing all aspects of interconnect supplier quality. You will collaborate with hardware designers, commodity managers, manufacturing engineers and drive supplier failure analysis. You will establish root causes, and drive corrective actions with preventative solutions. You will extract and analyze data from supplier facilities as well as Google production lines and data centers to verify performance and drive improvements.

Responsibilities

  • Define and execute data collection activities for technical issues.
  • Evaluate Interconnect quality and reliability within contract manufacturers and data centers. Drive improvement, investigate and coordinate failure analysis, isolate root causes, and implement corrective and preventative actions in collaboration with design, commodities, and supplier teams.
  • Drive quality improvement initiatives with suppliers and Google Engineering.
  • Manage the quality section of supplier scorecards during business reviews and drive quality and reliability improvements.
  • Conduct and manage supplier quality audits, driving standards in manufacturing, quality, and reliability.
