Regional Intelligence Analyst, YouTube

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • 7 years of experience leading projects and working with cross-functional teams, to include experience interacting with stakeholders and executives.
  • 7 years of experience in data analytics, Trust and Safety, policy, cybersecurity, or related fields.
  • Experience communicating with a variety of audiences while explaining technical and non-technical concepts.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Master's degree or PhD in a relevant technical field.
  • Understanding of YouTube and the social media ecosystem, to include online abuse.
  • Ability to communicate in Chinese (Mandarin), Korean and Japanese fluently to support client relationship management in this region.

Trust & Safety team members are tasked with identifying and taking on the biggest problems that challenge the safety and integrity of our products. They use technical know-how, excellent problem-solving skills, user insights, and proactive communication to protect users and our partners from abuse across Google products like Search, Maps, Gmail, and Google Ads. On this team, you're a big-picture thinker and strategic team-player with a passion for doing what’s right. You work globally and cross-functionally with Google engineers and product managers to identify and fight abuse and fraud cases at Google speed - with urgency. And you take pride in knowing that every day you are working hard to promote trust in Google and ensuring the highest levels of user safety.

In this role, you will be a focused intelligence team, charged with identifying and assessing regional events and social media trends to determine their impact on YouTube content and moderation. You will work closely with cross-functional teams across Trust and Safety and YouTube to get ahead of content trends, making YouTube a safer place for our users.

Responsibilities

  • Understand and prioritize geopolitical events in order to anticipate and analyze YouTube content implications.
  • Build a regional APAC YouTube ecosystem and develop video and channel content.
  • Support operational counterparts during fast-moving and ambiguous situations to assist in the mitigation of content risk on YouTube. 
  • Identify and support spam and adversarial abuse investigations.
  • Communicate nuanced analysis to executive management and cross-functional stakeholders in order to drive prioritization and risk mitigation decisions.
