As a Technical Program Manager at Google, you’ll use your technical expertise to lead complex, multi-disciplinary projects from start to finish. You’ll work with stakeholders to plan requirements, identify risks, manage project schedules, and communicate clearly with cross-functional partners across the company. You're equally comfortable explaining your team's analyses and recommendations to executives as you are discussing the technical tradeoffs in product development with engineers.

As a Lead Technical Program Manager you will drive the execution and global delivery of Google's critical network infrastructure. You will support and assist a high-performing team of Technical Program Managers to acquire and deploy dark fiber and leased capacity, ensuring the continued expansion and reliability of our long-haul and metro networks. Beyond delivery, you will act as a key organizational leader, defining program health through metrics and innovating scalable engineering processes that optimize capacity delivery across all global regions.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $227,000-$320,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Responsibilities

  • Provide technical and engineering support for a global team of Technical Program Managers (TPMs) specialized in the delivery of dark fiber and leased capacity from third-party network providers servicing Google's long-haul and metro networks.
  • Drive program health by defining key performance metrics, monitoring for deviations, and implementing corrective actions to ensure global connectivity goals are met.
  • Oversee, evaluate recommend policies and procedures of network operations, including Bulk Fiber deployments, IP Outside-of-Band (IPOOB) infrastructure, and the management of cross-connections and disconnections.
  • Innovate and scale engineering processes to improve the efficiency and reliability of capacity delivery across geographic regions.
