Minimum qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in a technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
- 10 years of experience in technical program management, leading projects.
- 10 years of experience in telecommunications, network infrastructure or outside plant design and construction.
Preferred qualifications:
- Demonstrated financial acumen (e.g., project budgeting and cost-benefit analysis).
- Understanding of fiber optic network design and interfacility connections.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in an ambiguous and changing operational environment.

As a Lead Technical Program Manager you will drive the execution and global delivery of Google's critical network infrastructure. You will support and assist a high-performing team of Technical Program Managers to acquire and deploy dark fiber and leased capacity, ensuring the continued expansion and reliability of our long-haul and metro networks. Beyond delivery, you will act as a key organizational leader, defining program health through metrics and innovating scalable engineering processes that optimize capacity delivery across all global regions.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $227,000-$320,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Responsibilities
- Provide technical and engineering support for a global team of Technical Program Managers (TPMs) specialized in the delivery of dark fiber and leased capacity from third-party network providers servicing Google's long-haul and metro networks.
- Drive program health by defining key performance metrics, monitoring for deviations, and implementing corrective actions to ensure global connectivity goals are met.
- Oversee, evaluate recommend policies and procedures of network operations, including Bulk Fiber deployments, IP Outside-of-Band (IPOOB) infrastructure, and the management of cross-connections and disconnections.
- Innovate and scale engineering processes to improve the efficiency and reliability of capacity delivery across geographic regions.
