About the job
A problem isn’t truly solved until it’s solved for all. That’s why Googlers build products that help create opportunities for everyone, whether down the street or across the globe. As a Technical Program Manager at Google, you’ll use your technical expertise to lead complex, multi-disciplinary projects from start to finish. You’ll work with stakeholders to plan requirements, identify risks, manage project schedules, and communicate clearly with cross-functional partners across the company. You're equally comfortable explaining your team's analyses and recommendations to executives as you are discussing the technical tradeoffs in product development with engineers.
Google owns and operates data centers all over the world, helping to keep the internet humming 24/7. GDC (Google Data Centers) leads the design, construction, operations, and maintenance of the data center portfolio. The Technology Optimization & Platform Solutions team's vision is to deliver innovative and scalable technical solutions that enable data-driven decisions and optimize the design, construction, and operations of Google AI Infrastructure globally.
This is a high-impact leadership role within the TOPS (Technology Optimization and Platform Solutions) team. You will be responsible for driving multi-year digital transformation initiatives (such as the Project Cost Management ecosystem evolution) and establishing the end-to-end governance frameworks that ensure our technology roadmaps align with Google’s rapid infrastructure growth.
Responsibilities
- Design and operate central mechanisms for intake, prioritization, and cross-functional alignment. Act as the primary interface between horizontal program owners, product teams, and engineering.
- Create and maintain a comprehensive system catalog—a single source of truth for platform capabilities, roadmaps, and onboarding documentation for Technical Leads (TLs) and stakeholders.
- Partner with systems teams to synthesize disparate technical tracks into a unified, transparent roadmap that reflects both business priorities and technical dependencies.
- Lead the full program lifecycle for complex, multi-phased deliveries. Manage risk and escalation for high-stakes projects, ensuring they are delivered safely, on time, and within budget.
- Develop and execute strategies to drive the adoption of new technical mechanisms. Refine best practices and standards to improve the predictability of data center construction and engineering workflows.
