Field Sales Representative, Security and Defense Industry

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • 10 years of experience in sales covering the German security and defense industry.
  • 10 years of experience with quota-carrying cloud or software sales, or account management at a B2B software company.
  • Ability to communicate in German and English fluently in order to manage client relationships in the region.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Experience growing an existing customer base and acquiring new clients at scale to increase business growth.
  • Experience working with, and leading, cross-functional teams and partners in implementations and negotiations.
  • Experience with commercial and legal negotiations, working with Procurement, Legal, and Business teams.
  • Experience cultivating C-level relationships and influencing executives.
  • Experience selling cloud solutions, infrastructure software, databases, analytic tools, or application software across the security and defense industry.
  • Experience in German Public Procurement law and processes (Vergaberecht), with a focus on the requirements of the security and defense industry, including understanding of NATO security standards and regulations.

As a Field Service Representative (FSR) on the German Public Sector team, you will be responsible for customers in the German Security & Defense industry. We are a global company that acts locally. You will help companies in the German defense and security industry to modernize, enhance services, and address their most complex challenges. You will prioritize customer success and impact by building trusted relationships, and work seamlessly with Google Cloud Product, Engineering, and Partner teams to deliver tailored, cutting-edge solutions.

Successful candidates may be required to obtain or currently possess Sicherheitsüberprüfung nach dem Sicherheitsüberprüfungsgesetz (SÜG) clearance during their employment.

Responsibilities

  • Drive Google Cloud's growth within Germany's key security and defense accounts.
  • Build and deepen executive-level relationships, becoming a trusted advisor who influences strategic technology and business decisions.
  • Position Google Cloud's sovereign, secure, and classified cloud, data, and AI solutions to help solve even the most complex customer challenges.
  • Lead the full business cycle, from developing comprehensive account strategies to facilitating and closing multi-year agreements.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with internal teams and Google partners to maximize impact and accelerate the digital transformation of the German security and defense industry.
