The Google Compliance team makes sure that our business is always consistent with the current financial regulations. Comprised of multitaskers, this team balances Google's legal and compliance requirements with the dynamic needs of our users and the values of our company. As part of this team, you proactively identify pain points and gaps in existing policy frameworks and find innovative solutions. You develop efficient compliance systems and work with teams to implement these across the organization. You are thorough in all you do and see to it that as Google pursues our next big idea, we always have our bases covered.
Google's Risk, Compliance and Integrity (RCI) organization addresses the issues arising from the impact of AI, product diversification, and fragmented global laws. RCI consolidates critical compliance, risk, and governance functions to support business innovation while meeting regulatory needs. The organization's primary goal is to transform compliance into an engaged advantage by implementing scaled, data-motivated programs, prioritizing based on risk, and engaging constructively with regulators.
As a Regulatory Compliance Lead, you will be responsible for operational excellence, strategic engagement, and ensuring end-to-end compliance. You will drive strategic, cross-functional solutions to safeguard users from evolving fraud, scams, and abuse trends. You will have a strategic mindset, excellent communication skills, and you will influence without formal authority across a complex, global organization.
Responsibilities
- Serve as a key front-facing representative for Google with regulatory agencies on matters related to user safety. Serve as the primary point of contact for all high-stakes escalations from the Indian regulators, driving reviews, enforcement efforts.
- Work closely with Legal, Public Policy, Trust and Safety and Product teams to align Google's strategies and drafting high-quality regulatory documentation, ensuring accuracy, consistency, and strategic positioning.
- Manage and drive the end-to-end process for complex regulatory queries, and escalations, including those related to compliance with legal take-down notices and content moderation decisions.
- Engage with regulatory bodies and law enforcement agencies regularly to conduct trainings and workshops geared towards process improvement and to preempt issue escalation.
- Lead the effort to track and map all regulatory advisories and due diligence obligations to platform policies, presenting findings to functional leadership.
