Audio Software Engineering Manager II, Android

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 8 years of experience with software development in one or more programming languages (e.g., Python, C, C++, Java, JavaScript).
  • 3 years of experience in a technical leadership role overseeing projects, with 2 years of experience in a people management, supervision/team leadership role.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Master's degree or PhD in Computer Science or a related technical field.
  • 5 years of experience in software development, with 3 years of experience working with embedded or low-level systems.
  • 3 years of experience working in a complex, matrixed organization.
  • Experience with multimedia frameworks and audio codecs.
  • Experience with audio and video processing or DSP including AV synchronization, Open GL/CL, codecs, AV/Media, or speech/audio recognition and synthesis.
  • Understanding of system interactions between typical consumer electronics building blocks such as USB, High-Definition Multimedia Interface (HDMI), DisplayPort, WiFi, Bluetooth, Cellular, Display, capacitive touch, keyboard and mice.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $197,000-$291,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Responsibilities

  • Align strategy, processes and decision-making across teams by setting and communicating team priorities that support organizational goals.
  • Establish clear expectations with individuals based on their level and role, aligned to organizational goals and conduct regular meetings to discuss performance, provide feedback and offer coaching.
  • Define and evolve the mid-term technical goal and roadmap within the scope of multiple teams to meet future requirements and infrastructure needs.
  • Design, guide and vet system designs within the broader area and develop code to address ambiguous problems.
  • Review code developed by engineers and provide feedback to ensure adherence to best practices including style guidelines, accuracy, testability and efficiency.
