Principal Account Executive, US Elections, Large Customer Sales

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • 11 years of industry experience in digital advertising, consultative sales, business development, or digital marketing, or 8 years of experience with an advanced degree.
  • Experience working with advertisers, agencies, or clients.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Experience building trusted-advisor relationships with C-level executives, and managing multiple projects, business leads, and internal stakeholders.
  • Experience with Google Ad Solutions, video advertising (e.g., AI-powered Performance and Video, Connected TV).
  • Understanding of competitor landscape across traditional and digital media advertising.
  • Ability to develop joint business plans in ambiguous environments, influence/collaborate across organizations, and drive business success for the customer and Google.
  • Ability to sell/propose creative technologies across a landscape of decision makers, and align strategies to deliver customer business outcomes.
  • Excellent strategic and tactical thinking skills, and systems thinking.

The Government and Advocacy vertical works across nonprofits, government, advocacy groups, and the political landscape. The clients have business objectives that range from awareness and fundraising to persuasion and voter mobilization. We are a team who is passionate about media, marketing, and the value Google can drive in this space. The political client landscape includes a healthy mix of brand and performance advertisers who are interested in Google’s full product suite. During an election cycle, they move from using our products for awareness and fundraising to massive brand campaigns for persuasion objectives, and finally mobilization of the electorate to get out the vote.

Google's Large Customer Sales (LCS) teams are strategic partners and industry thought leaders to the world's leading brands and agencies. We continuously challenge how customers think about their business and how Google can support growth. We focus on helping these players navigate profound industry shifts and drive outsized business performance by competitively selling Google's full suite of advertising solutions across Search, YouTube, Measurement, and more. As a member of our LCS team, you'll have the unique opportunity to sell at the forefront of technology, collaborating with executives, influencing market-shaping strategies, and delivering tangible results that significantly impact major global businesses and drive the growth of Google.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $156,000-$231,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Responsibilities

  • Cultivate and manage relationships with Right-of-Center political advertisers and agencies.
  • Drive adoption of Google’s full suite of products by understanding and promoting Google and YouTube’s unique ability to meet client marketing objectives, with a focus on video solutions for persuasion of advertisers.
  • Drive growth through focused outreach in a fluid and evolving industry.
  • Develop and maintain trusted C-level relationships with key decision makers and work collaboratively with cross-functional teams across Google to deliver for our clients.
  • Articulate an ambitious strategy to the clients to deliver on their objectives while generating business plans to define strategies and tactics, and deliver on plan milestones.
