Minimum qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Engineering, Computer Science, or equivalent practical experience.
- 15 years of experience in a Technical Sales Engineering role in a cloud computing environment or equivalent experience in a customer facing technical/engineering role.
- 10 years of experience selling IT solutions to Federal customers.
- 10 years of experience in go-to-market, and leading a team.
- Experience managing teams as a manager of managers.
Preferred qualifications:
- Experience building a scalable business/pre-sales organization focused on the Federal space.
- Experience establishing and maintaining the unique business infrastructure and compliant processes required for this particular customer set.
- Experience in customer engagement, including experience building businesses/products and business growth consistently.
- Ability to lead customers through a rapid transformation that embraces innovation in AI/ML solutions within and across the US Federal government.
- Ability to collaborate and drive cross-domain solutions that yield optimal outcomes and deepen relationships with customers.
- Active, or the ability to obtain, a Top Secret security clearance.
About the job
As the Google Cloud Federal Customer Engineering leader, you will be responsible for partnering with very senior level government executives in the relevant Federal agencies and entities to ensure we are bringing our Google Cloud product, solutions and expertise to help solve their most critical mission challenges they are facing today.
In this role, you will drive the team to meet and exceed ambitious growth goals. You will fully understand the technology of Google’s solutions in the enterprise space, and bring to bear a robust operational approach to recruiting, coaching, and managing the team.
You will partner with leadership and peers to set direction for work that impacts multiple lines of business. You'll influence and contribute to the development of varied organizations across the businesses focus, requiring an understanding to lead in a complex environment. You'll share responsibilities of leading the broader organization with peers, facilitating talent mobility and development. You will run the business autonomously while leveraging where the group fits into the broader organization.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $218,000-$313,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target salaries for the position across all US locations. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Responsibilities
- Lead a team of Customer Engineers and Customer Engineering Managers with pre-sales responsibilities over all Federal business.
- Develop/execute customer engineering strategy specifically for Federal market, aligning with overall company objectives and addressing unique needs of our customers.
- Lead the team in developing robust pipelines to meet near-term and long-term growth objectives; bookings goals for the organization by exercising a growth strategy and leveraging your network within the target markets.
- Maintain strong understanding of our products and technologies, provide technical guidance and support to the team, considering the specific technical landscapes and regulatory requirements within the Federal ecosystem.
- Create and drive innovative programs focused on delivering growth at Google scale. Meet with customers/prospects/policy makers and participate directly in shaping the key deals and accounts within the sector.
