About the job
As Google's products and services expand globally, the Energy and Location Strategy (ELS) team works dynamically behind the scenes to deliver the vital infrastructure capacity required for our rapidly growing portfolio. Within ELS, the Cloud and Asset Portfolio Solutions (CAPS) team focuses on strategic planning and portfolio management. We help to determine where, why, and how much infrastructure Google needs to scale seamlessly into the future. CAPS manages this complex portfolio and provides the strategies, programs, and tools that enable our regional negotiation and execution teams to consistently make high-quality, large-scale decisions faster and with less risk, directly supporting Google's business needs.Responsibilities
- Own the development and management of a comprehensive ELS portfolio planning framework that integrates forecasting, demand management, financial planning, and a robust risk evaluation process for identifying, assessing, reporting, and escalating portfolio risks (market, geopolitical, etc.).
- Provide critical portfolio insights by creating and maintaining dashboards and reports that track progress, utilization health, and key metrics (e.g., underutilization costs). Use this data to drive operational optimization and demand steering, while leveraging the analytics to shape long-term supply strategies and roadmaps for a dynamic, capacity-aligned future portfolio.
- Conduct scenario planning and what-if analyses to assess potential impacts on the portfolio and proactively identify opportunities for optimization and efficiency gains.
- Own the creation of the data-driven strategic plan for new powered assets, translating complex insights into requirements (what, where, when) and the compelling business rationale (why).
