Software Engineer III, Applied AI/ML, Google Cloud

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • 2 years of experience with software development in one or more programming languages, or 1 year of experience with an advanced degree.
  • 2 years of experience with data structures or algorithms.
  • 1 year of experience with core GenAI concepts (e.g., Large Language Model (LLM), Multi-Modal, Large Vision Models) with text, image, video, or audio generation.
  • 1 year of experience with Machine Learning (ML) infrastructure (e.g., model deployment, model evaluation, optimization, data processing, debugging).

Preferred qualifications:

  • Experience with Artificial Intelligence/Machine Learning (AI/ML) systems in a customer facing production environment.
  • Experience with a multi-region cloud based storage system.
  • Experience with developing data pipelines to compute metrics.
  • Experience with distributed storage infrastructure systems.
  • Experience of developing testing frameworks for storage infrastructure systems.
  • Experience with Service Oriented Architecture (SOA) based or Microservices based architecture.

In this role, you will work with a team of engineers, and get to build and own components for Storage Management with Gemini. You will work with teams to identify accuracy, reliability and scalability issues with the current infrastructure, and will have the opportunity to lead the design and implementation of new components.Google Cloud accelerates every organization’s ability to digitally transform its business and industry. Responsibilities

  • Drive Generative AI (GenAI) Accuracy/Security improvement initiatives (e.g., Prompt Engineering, Intent Classification, Fine tuning, RAG, etc.).
  • Participate in on-call responsibilities in the team to ensure that existing production systems meet Service Level Objective (SLOs).
  • Ensure infrastructure is compliant with Google principles with security, performance, reliability, fault-tolerance, etc.
  • Ensure the roll out process for new changes is compliant with the latest Google principles.
  • Work cross-functionally and collaboratively with other service teams in Google Customer Solutions (GCS) to solve problems and drive cross-functional execution.
